How Do I fix The Alignment on My HP Printer?

Method 1: Align your ink cartridges

  • Turn on your printer
  • Put few plain white papers into the input tray
  • Go to Start
  • Go to Programs
  • Go to HP
  • Click on HP Solution Center
  • On the HP Solution Center, Click on Settings
  • Click Print Settings
  • Click Printer Toolbox
  • Click on Align the print cartridges
  • Click on Align
  • Follow the instructions given
  • Your alignment is complete

Method 2: Resetting the printer

  • Turn on your printer
  • Remove the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet
  • Wait for few seconds
  • Reinsert the power cord back to the printer and the wall outlet
  • Press the power button
  • Print a page to verify alignment

Method 3: Use a different type of paper

  • Remove the old papers
  • Use clean, unused, U.S. letter size or A4 size paper
  • Touch the right arrow on control panel home screen
  • Select Setup
  • Select Tools
  • Select Align printer
  • The printer will print a test page
  • Open the printer
  • Place the printed paper on the scanner properly with the printed face down
  • Close the cover
  • Press OK
  • You will get the scanned alignment page
